Carlynne McDonnell, Founder/President

  • Animal love and rescuer for over 40 years.
  • Small business and non-profit consultant for over 20 years.
  • Experienced in non-profit management, all aspects of capacity building, fundraising and development, donor outreach and cultivation.
  • Author, “The Every Woman’s Guide To Equality” and Founder of Change in Our Lifetime, an equality non-profit for college women and men.

Kimberly McAllister, Board Secretary

  • Co-Owner of Best Buddies Pet Care & Training (started 2010)
  • BS in Animal Science with an Emphasis on Animal Industries/Business Management
  • Dog Behavior Specialist
  • Resident Animal Behaviorist at Hillcrest Retirement Community (La Verne, CA)
  • BNI (Business Network International) chapter leadership.
  • Over ten years volunteering at animal shelters, vet clinics, rescues and animal sanctuaries.
  • Best Buddies works with local rescues and shelters on a regular basis to place lost and abandoned animals and provide training throughout the Inland Empire and Los Angeles region.

Nicole McAllister, Board Director

  • Co-Owner of Best Buddies Pet Care & Training (started 2010)
  • BS in Animal Science with an Emphasis on Animal Industries/Business Management
  • Certified Dog Behaviorist, Animal Behavior College
  • Over ten years volunteering at animal shelters, vet clinics, rescues and animal sanctuaries.
  • Best Buddies works with local rescues and shelters on a regular basis to place lost and abandoned animals and provide training throughout the Inland Empire and Los Angeles region.

Amy Mathieson, Board Director

  • Human Resources professional with over 20 years in management and leadership experience across a wide range of business sectors.
  • Comprehensive volunteer experience in non-profit board management and functions; fundraising, donor cultivation.

Jackie Bivins, Ambassador Liaison and Coordinator

  • Business professional with emphasis on strategy, digital marketing, E-commerce and project management as well as building on-line communities. Her past clients included such companies as Vanguard, Genworth Financial, LEGO, Callaway Golf, TJX Cos., American Express and many others.
  • Since relocating from New York City to the desert full time two years ago Jackie has put her skills to work largely in a volunteer capacity. Organizations with which she has worked include Coachella Valley Repertory Theatre, the La Quinta Arts Foundation, the Ophelia Project and the Assistance League of Palm Springs Desert Area.
  • She is also a dog lover and “mom” to her pug, Henry. At 15 he is defying all the odds and still going strong.
